Giveaway: FLOR

This giveaway is no longer accepting entries. Thank you to all who participated!

Yesterday, we shared the latest living room tweak, our FLOR in Roadside Attraction. Today, we want to spread a little love; it’s Friday, after all! We’ve partnered with those awesome folks at FLOR to give one lucky reader their choice of 30 tiles – that’s the equivalent of an 8’x10′ rug – plus a free design consultation. Sweet, huh?

If you’re new to FLOR, it’s an easy and fun way to create, customize and assemble your own rug. (Plus, you get to play with giant stickers – er, FLORdots.) It’s pretty clear we enjoy them ourselves (having three combinations in our foyer, studio and living room), and we couldn’t be more thrilled to give one to you, too!

The details:

  • Up for grabs: 1 lucky winner will receive 30 tiles of their choice + a design consultation.
  • To enter, Step 1: First, visit FLOR on Facebook and give ’em a like. It’s the first place you’ll find out about those important things, you know, like promo codes!
  • To enter, Step 2: Second, submit your entry by leaving a comment on this post and telling us, where will your FLOR go?
  • For additional entries: Share this giveaway on Facebook or Twitter, then come back and leave a comment letting us know. (One additional comment for each method – up to 2 extra entries!)
  • Giveaway ends: Tuesday, August 21st, 6pm EST
  • Shipping restrictions: US of A and Canada only, please.

The lucky dog winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Wednesday, August 22nd. Good luck and happy entering!

the rug i currently have in there is a) 5 years old and kind of grungy and b) way too small for the space. would love to replace it!

  2. Your blog was the first I had heard of this company and I am instantly in love. After searching for three years for a rug for our bare kitchen floor, this would be the perfect solution!

  4. This is an excellent giveaway! I was surprised by all their offerings – even if I don’t win – I may just have to invest in some squares for our new bedroom! Thanks for the info.

  5. I love the idea of FLOR, especially with a dog and a 1 year old. I have 2 different places I would put it: the dining room or my living room. I am planning on removing the carpet for health reasons and this FLOR would be a great rug for my son to play on.

  6. I would put my Flor tiles in my bedroom….I looking to change things up :)

  7. My new FLOR will probably go in our future nursery for our first baby!!

  8. Exciting giveaway! I’d love to use FLOR in parts of our kitchen and dining area :-)

  10. I’d love some FLOR for my dining room! It needs a little love.

  11. My FLOR carpeting would go right smack in my bedroom! Such a cool business.

  12. That giant black monstrosity we currently have in our living room is kind of the bane of my exisistance. Every little Pete hair and crumb shows up and I feel like I’m constantly vaccuuming. Myself (and the neighbors below) would be ecstatic if we won! Besides, the giveaway does end on my birthday! :)

  13. We would love to have FLOR for our living room. I think something colorful!

  14. FLOR ME! I will definitely put the new tiles in my dining room. It is in major need of an upgrade from my college days beige shag rug.

  15. Our FLOR would go in our newly added on sunroom. I love the look and the durability of it!

  16. I am so intrigued by FLOR! We just bought our first home and we are looking for a durable, natural-fiber rug for our living room that can withstand our active life + a dog and a cat. This seems like the perfect solution!

  17. Not sure exactly where my new FLOR would go — probably either living room or kitchen.

  18. I actually ordered a couple FLOR samples (including Roadside Attraction) yesterday after reading your post. I like that with a little DIY I can create an odd sized rug for my living room!

  19. I would love some FLOR action in my living room. My rented loft has painted floors in a very unfortunate shade of grey.

  20. My FLOR would go in my kitchen. I need some awesome color to cover up a boring beige vinyl floor.

  21. Our living room! We have zero rugs and having a FLOR one would be amazing.

  22. We just moved into a house with all hardwood floors, so the possibilities are endless, but I think FLOR in our office would be great.

  23. Thanks Amy Lynn for posting this! I would love this in my family room. We have no rug and have 2 large dogs. We’ve been through many rugs and flor would be perfect!

  24. I would use the FLOR rug in our fireplace living room or in the 3rd bedroom/office.

  25. What an awesome giveaway! If we won I would definitely put it in our living room… I know our two pups would love to curl up on it (when their multitude of beds don’t cut it haha).

  26. I would put a FLOR rug in the living room, replacing my older rug from college days.

  27. I have been in love with FLOR tiles since forever. I would LOVE a FLOR rug in our living room!

  28. We need a rug of sorts for our ice-cold tile floor in West Virginia. It’s an odd shaped room, so the standard rectangle never seems to work right. We’ve had the place since 2009, and despite trying many different options we still have yet to find the answer.

  29. I’ve been looking to get a rug in my office, but I can’t find anything the right size. These FLOR tiles are perfect! I’m in love with the design you picked. It looks amazing.

  30. Time to toss our 15 year old, “temporary” carpet solution in the living room.
We pulled-up the brown shag when we moved in, only to find a linoleum carpet tarred down to the middle of the pine flooring. Eek! We’re ready to sand and refinish the floor and would love to add some magic FLOR tiles!

  31. I love Flor! I’ve had two Flor rugs in my office and right now my cheapo living room rug could really use an update. I have four kitties who have used it as a scratched post. I love that some of Flor’s styles aren’t loops (the cat’s favorite kind of carpet to scratch).

  32. Wonderful blog and an amazing giveaway! We love Flor and have been wanting to get some tiles for a very long time. We would put our new Flor rug in our living room…it would be a perfect way to cuddle with our rescued pup, while giving our hardwood floors some much needed company. :)

  33. We just moved into a new apartment and I tossed all of our old shaggy rugs in the process. The Flor rug would go right in the new living room, being that HUGE!!! It would mean no more slipping and sliding on those old Chicago hardwoods for my pup and kitty.

  34. I would love a new FLOR look for my dining room. (Or the hall, or the master bedroom, so many choices)

  35. how exciting! i had FLOR tiles my senior year of college because the floors were awful in my apartment. they were great! could use some in the new place over the wood floors! thanks :)

  36. My dorm room! The building I live in is almost 100 years old, and while it has pretty hardwood floors, I’m expecting them to get very chilly in the New England winter. Some fun, colorful FLOR tiles would be an attractive way to keep my piggies warm!

  37. Fantastic! I’ve been wanting to try out FLOR for a while, but I’m so indecisive. Design consultation to the rescue. Great giveaway!

  38. OMG … love that first photo! Talk about grand entrance. Relocating to a new space in October. Not sure where my FLOR would go, but this would look amazing anywhere!

  39. I neeeeeed this for our upstairs hallway- the floor isn’t in the best shape and it will be a while until we can undertake restoring them, this would make such a huge difference!

  40. I would loooove to win this- I’ve been contemplating my Flor are rug for months! (But still haven’t decided). It would go in my living room. :)

  41. Our new house has Spanish-style red tile floors, which are pretty but also hard, so this would be perfect for the living room… gotta soften that up!

  42. I’d love to put a FLOR rug in my new office/studio. I have interns starting in September and NEED to get a rug in the room before their first day!

  43. I would definitely love to create a new rug in our living room. We have an old, dingy rug in there now and I’d love something more contemporary and fun!

  44. 30 tiles of FLOR? Oh my! Some of those tiles would go in my entry way and the rest would make their way into my bedroom for a cushy spot to place my feet when crawling out of bed in the mornings.

  45. We are desperately in need of a new carpet in our living room, and have been considering Flor in our hunt for the right carpet! I would love to win!!

  46. We’re shopping for a new house, so our choices of rooms are endless! I think the best spot for a FLOR-floor would be a crafting room. (Hopefully I get one of those.)

  47. Maybe it would go in the office? Or bedroom? Or living room? We need rugs :)

  48. We are in the middle of re-doing our 3rd floor/loft to make it our master bedroom–We lay the wood floors next weekend and I would LOVE to put an area flor rug under the bed!!! it.would.be.perfect!

  49. we have a 550 sf bonus room that’s desperately in need of FLORing. :-)

  50. Weee! I love FLOR tiles. I would love some FLOR tiles for my currently carpetless living room! Thx for hosting this giveaway YBH!

  51. Have loved (and coveted!) FLOR for a long time now! Would probably put it in our living room!

  52. My Flor rug would replace the nasty shag rug that I can’t clean very easily and my Roomba can’t vacuum in my living room. And since I don’t quite need an 8×10 rug I might see if I can make an additional runner for my kitchen as well!

  53. I would love to have FLOR in my 7 month old’s room! He is starting to crawl and I bet his poor knees would enter this giveaway if they could!

  54. A FLOR rug would be great in my living room as I change out pillows for a new fall look!

  55. Definitely in the dining room. I’ve heard great things about how easy they are to clean!

  56. Ooooh! I would love to win this! I’ve been obsessed with FLOR since you posted about the Ikhat ones in your office! :)

If I were to win, I’d put my new FLOR tiles in our living room. I’ve been thinking about replacing the rug we have in there for quite some time now!

  57. I would love some FLOR tiles. I would use them in our family room, it’s bare and cold right now.

  58. fb liked. 30 tiles, huh? i think some will go in our living room to replace the existing tiles (many of which our dog decided were chew toys), and the reminder would probably be used to round out the somewhat skimpy selection we bought for the bedroom.

  59. I haven’t tried FLOR but would like to get one for my living room. I sold my old rug and haven’t been able to decide on a new one yet.

  60. It would go right into our office… I’ve been thinking they’d be perfect for our rolling chairs that just won’t roll over other rugs that don’t fit the space.

  61. The boyfriend and I just moved in together! He’s a grad student coming from a furnished apartment and I moved across the country to be with him (thus got rid of most of my stuff, including the rugs).
If we won, we would put it in the living room!

  62. I’ve been eyeing FLOR for my single girl studio! Since it’s so small, I could use 30 tiles in different areas to differentiate spaces – living space and sleeping space!

  63. I liked FLOR on fb. I hadn’t heard of this company either until your post. What a great idea! I love the versatility.

I would use the flor in my family room. It would be great to mix and match. Thanks for the chance, and introducing me to FLOR!

  64. Ooh, would love to win some Flor tiles! I would most likely use them in our guest bedroom (which is a bit bare at the moment).

    Thanks!

  65. I liked FLOR!

I have wanted one for soooo long – need it for the entry way!

  66. I just moved to a new apartment and have been wanting to put a flor rug in my new dinning room.

  67. I would love to add some FLOR tiles to my long and narrow entryway!

  68. My Flor tiles would probably go in my bedroom. Or maybe my basement.

  69. I liked FLOR on Facebook (great idea for promo codes, btw). I would put this in my bedroom, and would attempt an L-shaped rug (unless it looks terrible, then I’ll go traditional layout).

  70. I fell in love with Flor when I moved to Chicago! I’d never heard about it in Dallas. I would love to replace the not-so-exciting Home Depot carpet in my bedroom or put it in my dining room!

  71. Oh this would sooooo rule. We are looking for a rug for our living room. We’ve had nothing for a while but we’re about to welcome a baby and with that comes MESS! We would love this!

  72. Awesome! I have been considering Flor for our family room or sun porch but hesitate to buy because I have never seen it in action! This way would be worry free :)

  73. Liked on FB! Love FLOR tiles! I cannot decide… Living room or dining room! Just redecorated LR, but know the DR could come alive with a rug! Thanks so much!

  74. in my living room…we had a throw rug, but my cat was far too fond of pretending it was prey, so now we’re down to bare floor :-/

  75. Oooh I love Flor!
I have been playing around with their online configuration thingy, looking for a pattern for a runner for my long entryway hallway. Fingers crossed!!!

  76. I ordered the Flor catalog yesterday after reading your post. Just loved the possibilities. Would put this in my family room, as part of a makeover I’m dreaming of.

  77. We have a 7month old little boy and a 3 year old hairy baby (grommit our Boston terrier). Drool, snacks, bones and hair are part of our lives. But I also like to have a some what stylish house. What a great way to keep a rug and just replace dirty tiles.

  78. Would love a new rug for our living room – pulling up the carpet & refinishing the hardwood.

  79. I just moved to Chicago after selling all my possessions and living two years in Spain so I’m in need of pretty much everything. Seriously. So my future FLOR tiles could pretty much go anywhere but I’m thinking the living room would be a good start. :)

  80. If I was lucky enough to win the Flor would be perfect for my dining room.

  81. Liked on facebook. I live in a loft with concrete floors so it would go in our open living room space. Thanks for the giveaway!

  82. I’d love to win some FLOR tiles! I need to create a custom size rug to put under my parsons desk and dining room table :)

  83. Having moved from the condo above the yellow brick home, we have some additional square feet and could use additional FLOR tiles! The dining room could definitely use some tile goodness.

  84. Definitely in my dining room under my table… My floor and table happen to be almost the identical colour of wood, but like… Half a shade apart. Ick. Flor tiles would do wonders to break up the wood upon wood look ;)

  85. where wouldn’t a new FLOR go? living room, office, weird hallway…i’d love one!

  86. Dining room! Or basement office? Or bedroom? The possibilities are endless…

  87. In my bedroom! This looks like the perfect way to have a rug to warm your feet when you get out of bed, but not have to buy a giant rug that is mostly hidden under the bed

  88. Jake had FLOR tiles in his old bedroom, & FLOR is perfect for his new bach pad room addition : )

  89. Love FLOR tiles! I would have a hard time deciding where to put these, but I think the living room would win out. I’d like to add some colour and texture to the room. Thanks!

  90. I have had my eye on FLOR for a few years now. I love the versatility that tiles have over traditional carpet. I would put them in my living room to add some color.

  91. Oh boy, I’ve been wanting a FLOR rug for so long. fingers crossed I win! I think I’d put it in my bedroom around my bed. Since my bed frame goes all the way to the floor with a solid piece of wood I always thought a flor rug would be perfect to put around it – to make it look like a huge rug with less tiles!

  92. This would be wonderful in the entryway to my living room! It’s an open space that won’t allow for furniture but still begs for filling. Something architectural like this would be perfect!

  93. I would love to have some tiles as a runner by our entryway! It’s so hard to find the right pattern and length in a runner.

    Great giveaway!

  94. Just remembered I have a twitter account–shared the giveaway there too!

  95. I’ve been debating a use for FLOR in my homw for a long time now. And I think either in my dining room or guest bedroom would be just the place.

  96. I’m in Williamsburg, Brooklyn is an awesome orange old style railroad apt. We’re not rich but we sure are colorful! We need an awesome rug for our living room!

  97. I love Flor! We have been searching in vain for a rug for our living room – this would be the perfect solution!

  98. Oooooh! I love FLOR tiles! I have been dreaming of putting a new area rug in our front living room right after we rip out the carpet and re-do the original hardwood floors. Why must awesome area rugs be so expensive??

  99. We live in a bungalow with massive attic space; I’ve converted a section in a sewing/craft room but the floor is still wood and it’s old, dirty and pitted with flaws (shoes mandatory or you’ll get splinters). Flor tiles would be perfect…some great added color as well as a durable surface to protect my tootsies. Right now I can’t even lay a quilt on the floor for basting because the wood is so nasty and old..it looks like an old barn floor.

  100. We would want to replace our current area rug with flor tiles. Our kids/babies have taken their toll on our rug and I was admiring the ones you just chose!

  101. Always love the crazy Flor combos.. and you guys seriously rock them in your house. I’d love to lay a handful of Flor tiles in our foyer!

  102. My living room would love a new rug, and with several pets the Flor system just makes sense to me!

  103. I absolutely love FLOR despite never having owned a single tile- they have great colors and patterns and I would be incredibly lucky to use them to make a rug for my living room at last!

  104. We have been planning to order a FLOR rug for our living room AND our guest room. :)

  105. Ohhhh, such an amazing giveaway! LOVE! I think I’d choose new carpet for our living room. Our rug is looking pretty tired, and I know a new FLOR rug would really liven up the space!

  106. Flor would go in our long long long hallway in our Chicago condo.

  107. It’s a real toss-up between the living room where it could be enjoyed by my roommates as well, or in my bedroom which is really more like an art studio with a bed. A bright mismatch design like in the photo would be so inspiring while I’m working! Also, Tweet/facebook posts are going up right now :)

  108. My flor catalog is nearly worn out — so many options! This would go in out living room under our sectional.

  109. Love FLOR… I would put FLOR in the living room to replace the temporary, cheapo, dog proof rug that currently resides there :)

  110. I’d put it in the master bedroom in our new rental house in Lincoln Park!

  111. Oh this would be such perfect timing! I need something fresh for under my couch and coffee table. Woo Flor!

  112. I’d put my FLOR in our living room. It’d be the cutest and most comfortable way to hide our “vintage” apartment’s horrible wood floors.

  113. My FLOR would go in my bedroom – it’s the top floor of a cape cod and is such an odd shape, using FLOR tiles would really help me get the perfect look!

    Thanks!
    Erin

  114. Our FLOR would certainly go in the living room, we have a high energy pup who tends to spill things and is hard on our floors. Having an easily removable/washable option would be thebomb.com!

  115. My FLOR will go in my new, down-sized office space (inspired by your latest studio update)!

  116. I like Flor on Facebook.
I would put the tiles in my living room.

  117. The “Parallel Reality” is just the pop of color my Master bedroom needs!

  118. Ooh… choices. I would put it in our laundry room. It has this terrible stained concrete floor – not very inspiring for laundry! I think FLOR would work perfectly on that surface and make laundry less depressing!

  119. My front hallway is long, drab and tight. It NEEDS FLOR to brighten it up! :)

  120. I could desperately use this in my laundry room. Or living room. Maybe both!

  121. if i won, i think my new FLOR would go into my daughter’s room :)

  122. I just bought a house, & my living room is in desperate need of some love!! The rug we have is a hand-me-down that matches nothing I own.

  123. I’m redoing my boy’s room and the new FLOR will be a great addition and look awesome!!

  124. I will be putting my FLOR rug under my dining room table. Right now I have a too-small cheapie Ikea rug under a large, dark-colored table. Hope I win! :)

  125. We’d use the FLOR carpet tiles in our den/mudroom/reading room. It’s an area that needs some fun color on the floor b/c it’s one of the first rooms you see when you walk in the door, but needs to be easy to clean and maintain. I love the versatility these FLOR tiles offer – they’d be perfect!

  126. I’ve always wanted to try FLOR! Just liked them on FB. :) We definitely have a bare spot where the front door opens onto one end of the living room, and there’s a long space like the one shown in the photo that is crying for some kind of rug/carpet!
